Day 1
FALL IN LOVE WITH WATERFALLS
HIKE Start your day off with some fresh air! Follow the trails around Union Creek Resort to explore the waterfalls. Cross the street and walk behind Beckie’s Café to the Natural Bridge Trail to see crystal clear river water and peaceful forest. Head back and drive just a few minutes down the road to the Rogue Gorge Trail. This trail offers spectacular views of the Rogue River. LUNCH After hiking, recharge at Beckie’s Café for lunch. But stop in for a scoop of sweetness at Cones & Company for locally made ice cream before exploring. |

WATERFALLS Fall in love with the fall foliage surrounding beautiful waterfalls that surround Union Creek Resort. Throughout the trails, there are several popular waterfalls with crystal clear water flowing through them. The waterfalls can be accessed by trails or via driving.

Day 2
SPEND THE DAY AT CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK, JUST A SHORT DRIVE FROM UNION CREEK RESORT.
HIKE Explore the iconic hiking trails with spectacular views of Crater Lake. Take a short stroll up to the Phantom Ship Overlook via the Sun Notch Trail. Once you reach the overlook point, you will see a “ghost” pirate ship in Crater Lake, the Phantom Ship. While it might look smaller from the overlook, the Phantom Ship rises 16 stories out of the lake. If you are looking for more self-guided hike options that are perfect for fall: Plaikni Falls – Easy stroll through the forest to the waterfalls. 2.0 miles, about 1 hour. The Pinnacles Trail - View the volcanic spires of Crater Lake. Short walk along the rim of Pinnacle Valley. 0.8 miles, 30 minutes. |

SCENIC RIM DRIVE Hop back in the car and start exploring! The Rim Drive totals about 33 miles circling around the Rim of Crater Lake. Along the way, there are 30 overlook points to park and enjoy specular views of Crater Lake. Please note: Rim Drive does close at the first snowstorm, or early November. Highway 62 and the road leading to Rim Village will remain open. Closed roads will be available to guests for snowshoeing and other winter activities. |
DINNER After completing the Scenic Rim Drive, head back to Union Creek Resort for dinner at Beckie’s Café. Enjoy a delicious hamburger, or a refreshing salad. But save room for dessert and try the iconic Beckie’s pies. |
