Speaking of Southern Oregon wines, the Rogue Valley has become renowned for its ideal grape growing climate, fertile soil, and award-winning wines. The warm, dry climate is similar to France’s Bordeaux region and has made Southern Oregon one of the hottest growing regions in Oregon. Nearby Applegate Valley, Illinois Valley, and Umpqua Valley are also rich in wine-producing qualities and continually produce award-winning varieties.

There are dozens of wineries throughout Southern Oregon, and Union Creek is a great base to begin your day-trip wine tasting adventure. The closest wineries are in Sams Valley, Eagle Point, Gold Hill, and Butte Falls, with many other wineries and tasting rooms in Central Point, Medford, Phoenix, Talent, Ashland, Jacksonville, and the Applegate Valley. Heading north from Union Creek, there are many more wineries in the Umpqua Valley surrounding Roseburg, Oregon.
