- The Rogue River is world renowned for Salmon and Steelhead
fishing. Whether your choice is conventional tackle, fly fishing
or a scenic trip with a local guide,
Salmon
Fishing - The Legendary Rogue River, made famous in Zane
Grey’s novels, is where the action unfolds. The season begins
in May with Spring Chinook. Spring Chinook, or "Springers",
are thought to be the finest table fare of all salmon. Springers
are caught consistently from May 1st through the end of July.
Fish will weigh in at 15 to 40 pounds. Fall Chinook are next
on the list with the season running from August through December.
Steelhead
Fishing - Steelhead fishing has two prominent seasons
in Southern Oregon. Winter Steelhead season runs from January
through April and Summer Steelhead are found from August through
November. The
Rogue River receives over 300,000 returning Steelhead per year.
Adult Summer Steelhead are found in the Upper Rogue in great
numbers. Each season offers spectacular opportunities for the
adventurous angler.
Hunt
deer, elk and bear in the uncluttered, pristine wilderness
of Southern Oregon.
